Fujitsu offers a new production level duplex document image scanner designed to provide the ultimate performance, quality, and reliability. This scanner incorporates Fujitsus new "Dynamic Feeding" technology to bring total confidence to mixed document feeding : The M4099D.

Better Paper Handling for Maximum Reliability
Using "Dynamic Feeding" the scanner adjusts the roller tension in the feeder automatically to the optimum for the documents being fed.

Fast and reliable with a daily duty cycle of 24000 A4 documents, Fujitsu's M4099D scanner has been expressly created to meet the rigorous demands of dedicated document and image-management applications.

The 4099D comes as standard with both SCSI-2 and RS-232C/video interface capability.

High-Performance, High-Volume Duplex Scanning
The M4099D is a high-speed, high-performance duplex image scanner that handles document sizes as large as 11 x 17 inches (A3). In addition to its superior flexibility, the M4099D scans up to 90 pages per minute in simplex mode and 180 images per minute in duplex mode at up to 400 dpi.

The M4099D was designed to streamline even the busiest document imaging environments. The main features designed to optimize the scanning process are :=

  • Red/Green/Blue colour dropout without changing lamps or filters.
  • Double-feed detection capability that eliminates missed images by alerting you if more than one sheet is pulled through the scanner at a time
  • Prepicking function that prepares the next document for reading while the current document is scanned
  • Input hopper and Exit tray that hold up to 1,000 sheets, allowing you to load more documents for scanning
  • Automatic end-of-page detector that removes extra white space when scanning mixed-length batches
  • 3 built-in page counters that make it easy to monitor scanned batches and the life of consumables
  • Optional field-installable post-scan ink Imprinter that ensures every scanned document is marked on the rear side with up to 30 characters

Fujitsu's revolutionary award-winning Enhancement TechnologyTM (ET) delivers unparalleled image quality while maintaining the scanner's high throughput.

Built around Fujitsu's Image Processing Circuit (IPC), ET enables advanced imaging features such as Automatic Separation allowing documents with text and photos to be scanned in a single pass.

  • Dynamic Thresholding to automatically adjust contrast levels in documents that contain handwritten or typed characters.
  • Noise Removal to remove particles on copied or faxed documents.
  • Ball Point Pen Mode, which compensates for varying reflective light characteristics of ink, and much more.

IPC is fitted as standard and also has five user selectable IPC modes accessible through the user-friendly backlit operator panel providing optimum image quality.
